Washington High senior Reese Borlin, a key member of Washington’s distance crew in cross country and track, also raced in Boston for the first time after running in two other marathons.

“It was pretty amazing,” Borlin said. “I had a few troubles at the end. I had heat stroke and actually passed out at the finish line, but the first 17 miles were awesome. There’s so much running energy there.”

Borlin, who finished in 2:53:03, was also able to share the experience with his mother, Kerri.

“We’d been talking about running it together for about two years and it was really exciting to make it happen,” said Reese.
